Privacy Policy
Cheer & Dance Brands Limited, trading as Cheerbrandz and Dancebrandz, collects personal information to run cheerleading and dance competitions. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how it is handled. We comply with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 and, for our Australian events, the Australian Privacy Act 1988.
What we collect
- Gym, studio and coach contact details: names, email addresses, phone numbers and billing details, when you register or contact us.
- Athlete details entered by your gym in our registration system: name, date of birth and team, which we need to place athletes in the correct age division.
- Coach accreditation and working-with-children check numbers where the event requires them.
- Signed waivers.
- Payment records. Card details are entered directly with our payment provider and are not stored by us.
- Photographs and video taken at our events, which may be used in results, live streams and event promotion.
How we use it
- To register teams, build the competition schedule and run the event.
- To invoice and receive payment.
- To contact you about your entry and about future events.
- To meet insurance, safety and sanctioning requirements.
Who we share it with
We share information only where needed to run the event: our registration and scoring platform, our payment provider, our ticketing provider, the venue where required for safety or access, and our insurers. We do not sell personal information.
Storage and retention
Information is stored in our registration system and business systems, some of which are hosted outside New Zealand and Australia. We keep it for as long as needed to run our events and meet our legal and insurance obligations.
Your rights
You may ask to see the personal information we hold about you or your athletes, and ask us to correct it. Email events@cheerbrandz.com.
